Of Posiedon

Author: Anna Banks
Series: Of Poseidon, Book 1
Rate (On a scale of 1-10): 9!

Galen, a Syrena prince, searches land for a girl he's heard can communicate with fish. It’s while Emma is on vacation at the beach that she meets Galen.

Although their connection is immediate and powerful, Galen's not fully convinced that Emma's the one he's been looking for.

That is, until a deadly encounter with a shark proves that Emma and her Gift may be the only thing that can save his kingdom. He needs her help--no matter what the risk.

I loved this book! I love mythology and how authors modernize it and make it their own. I felt that the book was well written. There was description, but not like the Fallen series. I love the plot and twists. I definitely wasn't expecting a few. The ending! Oh dear sweet Lord. I need the sequel. Like now.

Emma was a good character to read. Sarcastic- check. Freaksihly pale (like me)- double check. Struck by tragedy- yup, check there too. Oh, and she's being sort of stalked by the most gorgeous boy she's ever seen. Or run into. There are times where I would have loved to switch place with Emma. She's the kind of character you can imagine for real. She's clusmy to the extreme, she's skeptical about a gorgeous guy liking her, she's pale. I love the pull between her and Galen, it's extraordinary. I wish humans had it. Overall, Emma is just an amazing character and was a pleasure to read about.

Galen. :) Mysterious, sarcastic, handsome, dreamy, a Syrena royal, and overall perfect. I love how his feelings for Emma grow and develop over time. His protectiveness over Emma and his sister, Rayna, is just too cute. At first he just seems like your typical hot jerk (I seem to really like that type of guy). He also seems a little stalkerish when he follows Emma and stares her down incestently. He also manages to have every single class with her. Over the duration of the book, you can see his true side. Caring, loving, and just a little scared. He blends in pretty well with the human world too. I love him. ♥

I liked the other two characters, Rayna and Toraf. Rayna self asbsorbed and dislikes humans. So, naturally she doesn't like Emma. But as the book goes on, you come to find another side of her that's really sweet. She "hates" Toraf's affections, and is always brushing, or more often than not, punching him away. Not that it makes him stay away or anything. Ah, Toraf, He's another good looking guy, also sarcastic and can see right through his best friend Galen. He knows his true feelings for Emma. Toraf relentlessly pursues Rayna, and he's just too cute. :)

I liked the ocean scenes, the pull, and the different view of Triton and Posedion. It's definitely different. A very good different.

I give it 4.5/5 stars. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone interested in a good summer read. Or hot prince merman. You know, either one.

Fallen

Author: Lauren Kate
Series: Fallen, Book 1
Rate (On a scale of 1-10): It's okay.

There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

I do love angels. This is the second time I've read this book, and it's still good. The cover is just so.. Enchanting. I love a new story about angels, fallen or no. This most certainly is new.

I liked Luce as a character. Even though she has a few more issues than some people, she's real. She doesn't fool herself into believing what's not there. She still has a sane view, even though she's had her fair share of "hallucinations" like shadows that seem to follow her around for the past 12 years. She hates reform school, and who wouldn't? She's inexplicably drawn to Daniel, who's brushed her off a countless number of times. She's also attracted to Cam, and he likes her. But he's not Daniel.

I liked Cam. Granted not towards the ending, but I liked him nevertheless. Daniel, I always liked him too. I think I'm also rooting for the guy she shouldn't pick. The worst choice, which ends up being the best. I love those guys. Daniel's one of them, that's for sure. He was so hot and cold, but near the end.. Aw. :)

The ending. Neh. It wasn't exactly a cliffhanger, but you still wanted more. But overall, the book seemed lacking. First of all, the cover, while gorgeous, is incorrect. Luce has short hair all throughout the book. It even explains why she has short hair. There was tons of details, yes, but some was unnecessary. In fact, it got a little boring. There wasn't a lot of suspense, but when there was it was well written.

Would I recommend it? Yes. Rating.. Hm. 3 1/2 out of five. For originality and a refreshing change in the angel story. But waaay too much description.

Obsidian

Author: Jennifer Armentrout. Because no other other could write a dreamy alien.
Series: Lux, Book 1
Rate (On a scale of 1-10): Infinity.

When seventeen-year-old Katy Swartz moved to West Virginia right before her senior year, she’d pretty much resigned herself to thick accents, dodgy Internet access, and a whole lot of boring, but then she spotted her hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up…until he opened his mouth.

Daemon Black is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. It’s hate at first sight, but when a stranger attacks her and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot guy next door? Well, he’s an alien. Turns out that Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities and Katy is caught in the crosshairs.
Daemon’s touch has lit her up like the Vegas Strip and the only way she’s getting out of this alive is by sticking close to him until her alien mojo fades. That is if she doesn’t kill him first.

I loved this series! I love Jennifer Armentrout's Covenant series, as well. She's a fantastic author.

Normally, as Katy put it, "ET doesn't do it for me." Aliens just aren't my thing. But Obsidian, holy crap. I love aliens! Especially if it's name is Daemon. ;)

I loved Katy! She's a fellow blogger, and funny, sarcastic, witty, stupidly brave, and beautiful. No one could do what she does and still be normal. I LOVE that she's a fellow blogger! And the blog is authentic, you can google it and everything! I love her internal commentary. I've not heard anyone in a while so is so sarcastic, both internally and externally. Inside her head is like, wow. Some of my favorite quotes are from her, not just Daemon. I’d brake-checked him several times. He’d blown his horn. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside." I love her as a character. She's fantastic.

Daemon. Oh, holy hell. Perfect. Beautiful. Jerkish. Sarcastic to the extreme. My perfection. He's another Jace, or Noah. Only meaner. At the beginning, he's mean. Rude. "“You look like you’re twelve. No. Maybe thirteen, but my sister has this doll that kinda reminds me of you. All big-eyed and vacant.”" He said that the first time they met. I think I fell in love with him before we learned his name. Yep, I did. Anyways, this boy is super amazing. One of the most powerful of their kind, and adorably (if not a little bit too much) protective of his little sister, Dee. He really cares about Katy, and for me that's obvious. I love the ending of the book, and the laptop scene (which is now infamous), and both lake scenes. Brilliant writing, Ms. Armentrout.

I love Katy and Daemon together! They're both so perfect for each other. Every time they're together there's always at least one sentence, whether it's dialogue or not, that always makes me smile or sometimes outright laugh. They have such good charisma and chemistry. It's downright combustible, the chemistry. They're just so.. Hott together. Yes. That's two "t"s. Well deserved, too. :)

I give this book 5/5 stars, definitely. Or 60. I can't decide.

Onyx (Book 2) comes out August 14!
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Happy reading my wonderful readers.

City of Bones ♥

Author: Cassandra Clare
Series: The Mortal Instruments, Book 1
Rate (On a scale of 1-10): Um. A million?

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder—much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Then the body disappears into thin air. It’s hard to call the police when the murderers are invisible to everyone else and when there is nothing—not even a smear of blood—to show that a boy has died. Or was he a boy?
This is Clary’s first meeting with the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. It’s also her first encounter with Jace, a Shadowhunter who looks a little like an angel and acts a lot like a jerk. Within twenty-four hours Clary is pulled into Jace’s world with a vengeance, when her mother disappears and Clary herself is attacked by a demon. But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know...

.. :) I will have so much fun with this review. :D

First off, let me say a few things. The Mortal Instruments is my favorite series. Ever. Jace Wayland is the best character that I have ever read about about this book was the main reason I started getting really fascinated with angels, and the whole bad boy/ sarcastic-snarky-with-a-really-sweet-side-for-one-special-girl thing. :)

I love this book. The writing, the characters, the plot, the author, the setting.. Everything. I named my cat after Chairman Meow, for Christ's sake. I loved Magnus, and Valentine was creepy. Still is creepy.

Clary, for me, was the first heroine that could actually do something for a change. She didn't put up with Jace's crap, she's funny, she's unwittingly beautiful, and she's incredibly brave. She loves her friends, her mom, more than anyone could ever imagine. There's a reason she won the heroine tournament at the YA Sisterhood blog. She's amazing.

Jace. Oh good God. Such a perfect boy. If only he were real. Sarcastic, arrogant, kick ass fighter (the best his age), and downright hilarious. My ideal. Is he good looking? Oh yeah. Does he know it? Hell yeah. I love him because he has quotes like this- “Did you ever think that in a past life Alec was an old woman with ninety cats who was always yelling at the neighborhood kids to get off her lawn? Because I do,”  And then he has quotes like this- “And now I’m looking at you,” he said, “and you’re asking me if I still want you, as if I could stop loving you. As if I would want to give up the thing that makes me stronger than anything else ever has. I never dared give much of myself to anyone before – bits of myself to the Lightwoods, to Isabelle and Alec, but it took years to do it – but, Clary, since the first time I saw you, I have belonged to you completely. I still do. If you want me.” He's just so perfect.

Okay. I think that pretty much covers that. I want to thank Cassandra Clare for being the first author who really spoke through her reading to me. That series is just so perfect. I love it. THANK YOU.

7 out of 5 stars. Definitely. No doubt. Wait. Probably more. 50. That should cover it.

Onyx Teasers!

In case you love this series and this author- Jennifer L. Armentrout as much as I do, I'm making a collection of the teasers for her upcoming book Onyx, the second book of the Lux series. It comes out August 14. The first book was Obsidian and it's absolutely fantastic. I'm in love with Daemon and Katy. They're so perfect. ♥
Anyways, here's the teasers I've managed to find:
Daemon laughed. “I’m only at the service of one person in particular."
My cheeks flamed as I scooted my chair over. “You are not servicing me in any way.”
He leaned in, closing my newly gained distance. “Not yet.”
“Oh, come on, Daemon. I’m right here.” Dee frowned. “You’re gonna make me lose my appetite."
***
I fiddled with my glass, not looking up. “Can I ask you a question?”
“Depends,” he replied smoothly
***
“Other than what I felt when I saw how good you looked in those jeans this morning?” he asked.
“Daemon,” I sighed, trying to disregard the girl in me that screamed HE NOTICED ME! “I’m being serious.
***
“Kat, look at me.”
I wasn’t looking at him? My legs gave out. And then there was nothing. No Daemon. No thoughts. No fire. No Katy.
                                                                                ***

Around six in the evening. I felt that now-oh-so-familiar tingle on the back of my neck right before Daemon knocked. A ball of confusing feelings unfurled inside me as I hurried to the door.

The first thing I noticed was the large box beside him, and then the scent of roasted turkey and yams.

“Hey,” he said, holding a stack of covered plates. “Happy Thanksgiving.”

I blinked slowly.“Happy Thanksgiving.”

“You going to invite me in?” He held up the plates, wiggling them. “I come bearing gifts in the form of food.”

I stepped aside.

Still grinning, he came in and waved his free hand. The box lifted off the porch and trailed behind him like a dog. It landed just inside the foyer. As I shut the door, I caught sight of Ash and Andrew climbing into their car. Neither of them looked over.

A lump formed in my throat as I turned to Daemon.

“I brought a little of everything,” He headed toward the kitchen. “There’s turkey, yams, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green-bean casserole, some kind of apple crisp thing and pumpkin—Kitten? Are you coming?”
                                                                             ***

“I don’t think we got the chance to introduce ourselves the other night at the diner. My name is Blake Saunders.” He offered his free hand.
Daemon glanced at Blake’s hand before returning his gaze to me. “I know who you are.”
Oh, geez. I twisted toward Blake. “This is Daemon Black.”
His smile faltered. “Yeah, I know who he is, too.”
Laughing under his breath, Daemon straightened. At his full height, he was a good head taller than Blake. “It’s always nice to meet another fan.”
Yeah, Blake had no idea what to say to that.
                                                                              ***

I scooted out of the laundry room and skipped down the hallway, arms flaying around my head like one of the hot pink puppets from the movie Labyrinth. “A scent and a sound, I’m lost and I’m found. And I’m hungry like the wolf. Something on a line, it’s discord and rhyme—whatever, whatever, la la la—Mouth is alive, all running inside, and I’m hungry like the—” Warmth spread down my neck.
“It’s actually, ‘I howl and I whine. I’m after you,’ and not blah or whatever.”

Startled by the deep voice, I shrieked and whipped around. My foot slipped on a section of well-cleaned wood and my butt smacked on the floor.
“Holy crap,” I gasped, clutching my chest. “I think I’m having a heart attack.”
“And I think you broke your butt.” Laughter filled Daemon’s voice.
I remained sprawled across the narrow hallway, trying to catch my breath. “What the hell? Do you just walk into people’s houses?”
“And listen to girls absolutely destroy a song in a matter of seconds? Well, yes, I make a habit out of it. Actually, I knocked several times, but I heard your…singing, and your door was unlocked.” He shrugged.
“So I just let myself in.”

“I can see that.” I stood, wincing. “Oh, man, maybe I did break my butt.”

“I hope not. I’m kind of partial to your butt.” He flashed a smile. “Your face is pretty red. You sure you didn’t smack that on the way down?”

I groaned. “I hate you.”

                                                                      ***
Taking pity on me, Carissa kept her voice low. “You were calling out for Daemon
I dropped my face in my hands and moaned. “Oh, God.”
Lesa giggled. “It was kind of cute.”
A minute before the tardy bell rang, I felt an all-too-familiar warmth on my neck and glanced up. Daemon swaggered into class. Textbook-less as usual. He had a notebook, but I don’t think he ever wrote anything in it. I was beginning to suspect our math teacher was an alien, because how else would Daemon get away with not doing a damn thing in class? He passed by without so much as a look.
I twisted around in my chair. “I need to talk to you.”
He slid into his desk chair. “Okay.”
“In private,” I whispered.
His expression didn’t change as he leaned back in his chair. “Meet me in the library at lunch. No one really goes in there. You know, with all those books and stuff.”

                                                                       ***
He was lounging in a cubicle beside an outdated computer, hands shoved into the pockets of his faded jeans. A wavy lock of hair covered his forehead, brushing against thick lashes. His lips curled into a half smile. “I was wondering if you were ever going to find me.” He made no move to clear up any space in the tiny 6x6 hole.
I dropped my bag outside the walls and hopped up on the desk opposite him. “Embarrassed someone would see you and think you’re capable of reading?”
“I do have a reputation to maintain.”
“And what a lovely reputation that is.”
He stretched out his legs so that his feet were under mine. “So what did you want to talk about”—his voice lowered to a deep, sexy whisper—“in private?”
I shivered—and it had nothing to do with the temperature. “Not what you’re hoping.”
Daemon gave me a sexy smirk.

                                                            ***

“Whatever, Kitten.” Daemon gripped my hips, lifting me onto the
edge of the desk with an ease that was disturbing. “I know better.

***

(Daemon's POV)
Inbetween the kisses that unraveled me and then pieced me back together, I spoke things I neve

r told anyone
.

Daemon pulled me up against his chest and lowered his head, eyes snapping with restrained anger. “Don’t hit, Kitten. It’s not nice.”

***

(Daemon's POV)
And I wasn’t thinking about the running kind of workout. Horizontal cardio. Hell, stand up, sit down, on the floor, anywhere anytime kind of cardio. I wasn’t picky.

If there are any other ones, please let me know because I'm obsessed. ;)

The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer ♥

Author: Michelle Hodkin
Series: Mara Dyer, Book 1
Rate (On a scale of 1-10): 50. It's freaking amazing.

Mara Dyer doesn't believe life can get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
It can.

She believes there must be more to the accident she can't remember that killed her friends and left her strangely unharmed.
There is.

She doesn't believe that after everything she's been through, she can fall in love.
She's wrong.

I love this series. I love Mara and her complicated past, and I love Noah and his.. Well everything.

Mara doesn't know she's beautiful. She seriously doesn't know it. This is what Noah thinks when he firsts sees her:

"She stands there in dark jeans that would be indecent if she didn't wear them so casually, with a loose, faded black T-shirt that sets off her cream skin. Not from Florida, clearly new, and so beautiful I nearly laughed out loud." Aww, Noah. I freaking love you. ♥

I loved Mara. She's vulgar and snarky and brilliant. For weeks after I read this book, and then reread a week later, I wanted to dress like a vintage model like she did at the costume party. I loved her relationship with Noah. It was instant, it had chemistry, and it was perfect.

Noah Shaw, oh my. Where to start? He's British, and unbelievably perfect. It's like he walked out of my dreams into Michelle's head. God, he's just so amazing. He's mean to some people (Anna) but he has this soft side for Mara, animals, and his stepmom, not to mention his little sister Katie. I bought this book on my Kindle, and therefore have the ability to highlight quotes I like. I think, that if Noah said something even remotely funny, the entire page was highlighted. I’m horrible about my book crushes. By horrible I mean fanatic. Obsessive. ;) Noah is the freaking best. I love his feelings for Mara. They’re so.. Definite. And infinite.

I love the writing in Mara Dyer. To steal Cassie Clare's words, it's "haunting and dreamlike." It leaves you wanting so much more long after the book is finished. The Evolution of Mara Dyer, which is the sequel, comes out October 23. I'm counting down the days, believe me. Especially after that ending. Goodness.

There are some novels that just speak to you, and authors as well. I don't know what motivated Michelle Hodkin to write this, but whatever it was, I thank it dearly. I read this book for one reason: The YA Sisterhood described Noah as a British Jace. That is why I read Mara Dyer, and I'm so very thankful I did. It's a close second to my favorite series preceded only by The Mortal Instruments.

I would like to thank Michelle Hodkin really quick for making such an AMAZING book. You are seriously my dream author, and I love your writing. So follow her blogger, The Michelle Show, her tumblr, or Twitter. :)

I would give this 20 out of five stars. It's just that fantastic. :)

The Fault in Our Stars

Author: John Green
Series: None. Stand alone book.
Rate (On a scale of 1-10): 1 Cancer. Bleh.

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

This is a cancer book. I hate cancer books. I wouldn't have read this book unless it was forced upon me. It just so happened that it was by my grandmother and a librarian.

I hate books with sad endings and cancer and sickness and hospitals. I refuse to read most. But if you like bad endings that leave you with some really deep thoughts, this is the book for you! Unfortunately, it's not the book for me.

Hazel was interesting to read, although she really isn't my ideal heroine. She's not like most cancer patients and definitely not like most teenage girls. She's deep for a sixteen year old girl, and her favorite book is about a leukemia patient that has no ending. She's quite a determined girl about this ending.

Augustus was pretty okay. Arrogant, yes, but I happen to like arrogance in a boy. He made the book worth reading for myself. I hate the ending. It felt unfinished, and yet I just wanted it to be over.

I wasn't pleased with Hazel's and Gus' relationship. There was attraction there, that was obvious, but they didn't do anything with it. I felt like I was sitting there, and I was like, come on, come on, come on. I need romance. I need a happy ending. I got one eventually, but it took a long time. A very long time.

Overall this book didn't really do it for me. I like paranormal, and I like relationships that have obvious chemistry right off the bat. Like Clary and Jace off the Mortal Instruments, and like Katy and Daemon off the Lux series. I think I'm starting to see a trend of my favorite couples. Hm.

I'd give the book 2 stars out of five because as I've established, I hate cancer books. But it was also well written with explanations and details.

If I Die

Auhor: Rachel Vincent
Series: Soul Screamers, Book 5
Rate (On a scale of 1-10): 12 :D

The entire school's talking about the gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck. Everyone except Kaylee Cavanaugh. After all, Kaylee's no ordinary high school junior. She's a banshee—she screams when someone dies.
But the next scream might be for Kaylee.
Yeah—it's a shock to her, too. So to distract herself, Kaylee's going to save every girl in school. Because that hot new teacher is really an incubus who feeds on the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend's needy ex girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck…before he discovers they aren't quite human, either.
But Kaylee's borrowed lifeline is nearing its end. And those who care about her will do anything to save her life.

Anything.

I get to review my absolute favorite book in the series! Yes! Okay, end fan girl moment.

If I Die is my favorite, and the fifth, book in the Soul Screamers series. The sin it features is lust.  That's very obvious.

The reason why I love this book: Highlight over it.

****SPOILER**** Highlight to see. ;D

Nash and Kaylee are permanently spilt up. He hates her. KAYLEE AND TOD GET TOGETHER!!!! Finally. :D

****End****

Anyways, the character of Mr. Beck, the hot new teacher with the cursed position, interests me. He's an intriguing character. I still hate Sabine, I probably always will. Nash is definitely not my favorite character after this book. I love Aiden in this book. He cares so much for Kaylee it's so incredibly sweet. I love Harmony. She's always there, she always wants what's best, and she's so supportive.

I love Tod more with every word. His affections become more and more apparent with every chapter. I've always preferred Tod to his brother, mostly because he actually has a sense of humor and is so completely perfect for Kaylee, but in this book.. Wow. He takes it to a whole new level. At one point, I think I died. Or cried. Maybe both. I can't remember. But there was more yelling and fist pumping. One, no two.. Maybe three of those amazing Tod scenes are in here. Ending. Netherworld scene. *swoons* I want a Tod.
Kaylee in this book is so different. She's so much stronger, and you realise how much you love her. She's scared to death.. Of death.. And she stills comforts everyone else. Making sure her dad doesn't do something stupid, taking care of Nash (not that he knows. Or cares.) She's so much nicer to Sabine than she deserves.

The end of this book.. Holy crap. I think Rachel was trying to kill us all. Everything happened in like two chapters. It was so fast, but I still felt content, everything was rushed but nothing was left out. You get to learn about Levi, and Kaylee, and Nash. I swear, I hate him after this book. More so than I already do. Did. Whatever. AND TOD. No, no, no I don't hate him! Love him!

I absolutely cannot wait for Before I Wake. June 26th cannot come soon enough! THANK YOU Rachel Vincent for finally doing what I wanted you too since book one! :)

Rating. Hmmmmm. Ending:  600/5. Beat that.  Whole 4 1/2 because I now love Rachel. :D I just love that ending!

I'm super excited for this giveaway. For those of you who don't know, Obsidian is the first book in the Lux series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I highly recommend the book, it's amazing. Daemon is my favorite character, definitely and the main character, Katy, is a fellow blogger! Daemon is like Jace, from the Mortal Instruments and Noah, from the Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. He's amazing. The book is amazing. Jennifer is amazing. :)

My Soul to Steal

Author: Rachel Vincent
Series: Soul Screamers, Book 4
Rate (On a scale of 1-10): -afreakingmillion for Sabine 4 For the book

Trying to work things out with Nash—her maybe boyfriend—is hard enough for Kaylee Cavanaugh. She can't just pretend nothing happened. But "complicated" doesn't even begin to describe their relationship when his ex-girlfriend transfers to their school, determined to take Nash back.
See, Sabine isn't just an ordinary girl. She's a mara, the living personification of a nightmare. She can read people's fears—and craft them into nightmares while her victims sleep. Feeding from human fear is how she survives.
And Sabine isn't above scaring Kaylee and the entire school to death to get whatever—and whoever—she wants.

Kaylee is definitely having major issues. Nash was on frost. They broke up. He still "loves" her. Now Nash's ex girlfriend, Sabine is back in town. I feel sorry for the girl. Kaylee. Not bitch lady. Speaking of...

I hate Sabine. HATE her. She's bitchy, egotistical, narcissictic, megalomanic nightmare. You see the play on words there? Since she's and mara and- Oh nevermind. She can have Nash. Kaylee should have TOD.
If you look close enough, there's a few hints that Tod likes Kaylee. I would LOVE that couple. To death. I love Tod more with every book. He's just so wonderful. I love how he's becoming one of Kaylee's best friends. He talks with her and understands her. It's something she needs. Not a recovering addict who can't make up his mind. *coughs*

Everyone's favorite hellion, Avari, is back in this book. Just as greedy as ever. Just mentioning that. He's kind of important.
This book has a lot of development in it. Nash and Kaylee's relationship, Kaylee's and Tod's friendship, Sabine and Nash and Kaylee. The sin of this book is envy, which becomes painfully obvious in the last two or three chapters. Envy is also reflected throughout the book if you know to look for it.
3 1/2 stars. Tod. Kaylee. Development. 'Nuff said. ;) Haha.

I'm awful, I know.

I haven't updated in forever, I know. I'm so so so so sorry. A thousand pardons. But there's a billion and one things going on and it's very stressful. I have finals and a new kitten. His name is Chairman Meow, named after the cat in City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. If you haven't read it... Just go do it. Like now.

Anyways.

Exciting things are going on! The 30 Days of Daemon kicked off today! I'm super excited. Daemon, meaning Daemon Black here, is from Jennifer Armentrout's book, Obsidian. It's a freaking excellent book. I love Daemon. He's snarky, sarcastic, and undeniably gorgeous. There will be teasers for Onyx (coming out Aug. 14) interviews, and more! As part of my Teaser Tuesday, here's a teaser of Onyx!

The irate sound of “KATY ANN SWARTZ!” being yelled, followed by a husky male laugh was what roused me from the satisfying haze of deep sleep. My eyes fluttered open, and I tried to remember the last time Mom had used my full name. Oh yeah, it had been years ago, when I’d tried to pet a baby opossum that had gotten on our balcony somehow. Mom stood in my bedroom doorway, dressed in her robe, her mouth hanging open. Will stood behind her, wearing a strange, satisfied smile on his face.

“What?” I mumbled. My hard pillow moved. Glancing down, I felt my cheeks burn hot. Daemon was still in my bed. And I was half lying on him. One of his hands was wrapped around mine, pinning it against his chest. OhmyGodno

Mortified on an epic level, I pulled my hand free. “This isn’t what it looks like.”

“It’s not?” Mom folded her arms.

“They’re just kids,” Will said, grinning. “At least they’re fully clothed.”
“Not helping,” she shot back.
I started to sit up, but Daemon’s arm tightened around my waist as he rolled into me, nuzzling my neck. Wanting to die a thousand deaths, I pushed at him. He didn’t budge. His eyes opened into thin slits. “Mmm, what’s your problem?”
I stared meaningfully at the doorway. Frowning, he turned his head and froze. “Oh, wow, awkward.”

Is that amazing or what?! Tomorrow check out Stuck in YA Books and Pure Imagination for Dear Daemon posts!

I've been reading a lot lately.
Sweet Evil, Underworld, CITY OF LOST SOULS, Until I Die, Falling Under, Insurgent, and Incarnate. So many books, so little time. ;)
