Auhor: Rachel Vincent
Series: Soul Screamers, Book 5
Rate (On a scale of 1-10): 12 :D
The entire school's talking about the gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck. Everyone except Kaylee Cavanaugh. After all, Kaylee's no ordinary high school junior. She's a banshee—she screams when someone dies.
But the next scream might be for Kaylee.
Yeah—it's a shock to her, too. So to distract herself, Kaylee's going to save every girl in school. Because that hot new teacher is really an incubus who feeds on the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend's needy ex girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck…before he discovers they aren't quite human, either.
But Kaylee's borrowed lifeline is nearing its end. And those who care about her will do anything to save her life.
Anything.
I get to review my absolute favorite book in the series! Yes! Okay, end fan girl moment.
If I Die is my favorite, and the fifth, book in the Soul Screamers series. The sin it features is lust. That's very obvious.
The reason why I love this book: Highlight over it.
****SPOILER**** Highlight to see. ;D
Nash and Kaylee are permanently spilt up. He hates her. KAYLEE AND TOD GET TOGETHER!!!! Finally. :D
****End****
Anyways, the character of Mr. Beck, the hot new teacher with the cursed position, interests me. He's an intriguing character. I still hate Sabine, I probably always will. Nash is definitely not my favorite character after this book. I love Aiden in this book. He cares so much for Kaylee it's so incredibly sweet. I love Harmony. She's always there, she always wants what's best, and she's so supportive.
I love Tod more with every word. His affections become more and more apparent with every chapter. I've always preferred Tod to his brother, mostly because he actually has a sense of humor and is so completely perfect for Kaylee, but in this book.. Wow. He takes it to a whole new level. At one point, I think I died. Or cried. Maybe both. I can't remember. But there was more yelling and fist pumping. One, no two.. Maybe three of those amazing Tod scenes are in here. Ending. Netherworld scene. *swoons* I want a Tod.
Kaylee in this book is so different. She's so much stronger, and you realise how much you love her. She's scared to death.. Of death.. And she stills comforts everyone else. Making sure her dad doesn't do something stupid, taking care of Nash (not that he knows. Or cares.) She's so much nicer to Sabine than she deserves.
The end of this book.. Holy crap. I think Rachel was trying to kill us all. Everything happened in like two chapters. It was so fast, but I still felt content, everything was rushed but nothing was left out. You get to learn about Levi, and Kaylee, and Nash. I swear, I hate him after this book. More so than I already do. Did. Whatever. AND TOD. No, no, no I don't hate him! Love him!
I absolutely cannot wait for Before I Wake. June 26th cannot come soon enough! THANK YOU Rachel Vincent for finally doing what I wanted you too since book one! :)
Rating. Hmmmmm. Ending: 600/5. Beat that. Whole 4 1/2 because I now love Rachel. :D I just love that ending!
