There's something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.
Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price's attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He's the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.
Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce--and goes out of his way to make that very clear--she can't let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

I do love angels. This is the second time I've read this book, and it's still good. The cover is just so.. Enchanting. I love a new story about angels, fallen or no. This most certainly is new.
I liked Luce as a character. Even though she has a few more issues than some people, she's real. She doesn't fool herself into believing what's not there. She still has a sane view, even though she's had her fair share of "hallucinations" like shadows that seem to follow her around for the past 12 years. She hates reform school, and who wouldn't? She's inexplicably drawn to Daniel, who's brushed her off a countless number of times. She's also attracted to Cam, and he likes her. But he's not Daniel.
I liked Cam. Granted not towards the ending, but I liked him nevertheless. Daniel, I always liked him too. I think I'm also rooting for the guy she shouldn't pick. The worst choice, which ends up being the best. I love those guys. Daniel's one of them, that's for sure. He was so hot and cold, but near the end.. Aw. :)
The ending. Neh. It wasn't exactly a cliffhanger, but you still wanted more. But overall, the book seemed lacking. First of all, the cover, while gorgeous, is incorrect. Luce has short hair all throughout the book. It even explains why she has short hair. There was tons of details, yes, but some was unnecessary. In fact, it got a little boring. There wasn't a lot of suspense, but when there was it was well written.
Would I recommend it? Yes. Rating.. Hm. 3 1/2 out of five. For originality and a refreshing change in the angel story. But waaay too much description.
